The book of Hebrews is written with one central focus in mind; to present Jesus as the center, focus, and reality for all of scripture. In order to understand the New Testament, and who Jesus is, you have to understand the Old Testament and how it points to Jesus as the coming Messiah. The terms used for understanding how different events and people appoint to Jesus is called “types and shadows” of Christ. We are going to look through the shadow of the cross into the Old Testament to find these types and shadows.
