For 2024, the Elders felt the Lord leading them to take a break from continuing through the Gospel of John to transition into the season of Advent with a different teaching direction. Every year Heights Community sits in the waiting and longing for Christ as we remember His first coming and look forward to His second coming. It is a season to stop and to sit with Jesus and be reminded of the story of redemption of God on display through His Son; Jesus - Emmanuel (Christ with us).
The theme this year of the series is that of recalling the Angelic encounters with the people involved in the story of Jesus’ birth during His first coming. Each week the text will retell and focus on the Angels visiting Zechariah, Mary, Joseph, and the Shepherds. We pray this season reminds you of the main themes of Advent: HOPE, PEACE, JOY, and LOVE in which we find in our Great Rescuer; Jesus Christ!
